Any Tesla campers I’ve got a new mattress recommendation. The new Luxe Tesmat mattress. I’m a side sleeper so all the 2-3 inch pads weren’t enough, finally found one that works.

Please see the video linked below for the full review of the Gen4 mattress for the model Y.

Thanks so much for your in depth review! It also let us know that the pack away may not be as intuitive as we initially thought so we’ll definitely be making video instructions as the process should be much easier than it seems in your video. Some tips: don’t stress rolling up the roll as tight as possible; as long as you can roll it enough to get the Velcro flap to reach the corresponding strip, it will pack away just fine and this should be able to be accomplished without much force. It is much easier to do the extra compression needed with the straps. The roll will look like it does not fit in the bag, but place the rolled up mattress with the hard boards facing up inside the bag. With the bag on the floor, kneel on on the hard boards, while simultaneously tightening the straps. You shouldn’t have to pull too hard on the straps as your body weight should be doing the work of compression while the straps are just utilized to maintain the compression you’ve already done by kneeling on the roll. By not pulling so hard on the straps, they shouldn’t come out of the plastic slits which are present so that the straps can be removable for when using the carrying case as a cooler so that the straps do not get wet. Thanks again for the review! We hope you find these tips helpful as we get our video instructions produced and posted!
We bought this for some sporadic car camping during our two week road-trip. We were searching everywhere for something to give us more privacy even after our windows were tinted. This worked amazing!!! It took under five minutes to set up, we just watched a quick video with the card provided. Blocked out all the sun and using a credit card to tuck made a huge difference. The video is after the sides had been removed but wanted to share.
The cushions are very comfortable and adjust to the raised lip inside the trunk. Fitted sheet must be rolled “over” the edges foe the extra fabric to fit snug and comfortably. Do not try to force the fitted band to be on the edges of cushions, those go over and under to fit correctly. Love this!! With the tinted windows and privacy screen I ordered as well... couldn’t of asked for anything for legit! 👌🏻
Overall I really liked it.
However, it took a lot of time for the first installation.
Especially, the mounting hole of the suction cup on the rear side was too small and I had a hard time inserting it.
After that, I use a card to push the lower cloth into the slit, but I think the curtain is not long enough.
I thought it would be easier to push it into the slit if it was a little longer.
The mattress is pretty comfy. It rolls up pretty easy and fits in the bag. There's a bit of a smell from the factory but it disappeared after leaving it out for a bit. the built in pillow is functional but it is a little bit flat if you like more bulk, you may want to bring your own pillow. It took a couple weeks for delivery. I couldn't get a response to my query about the shipping, which made me pretty nervous but I did get the product before I even got a response.
You would not believe you are in the back of a car on an inflatable mattress it is so comfortable. I have only skipped 2 nights in hotels so far and saved myself half of what I paid.
I would recommend springing for the comforter set as it makes it easier to put up and take down everything.
So I bought this mattress after seeing a review on Reddit. Turns out that it does not only fit perfectly in a 2019 model 3. But it also is comfortable, not my home mattress comfortable but better than a motel comfortable.
I travel a lot for work and I often stay in hotels but now I sleep in my car every time I’m out of town. The tesmat is more comfortable than hotel beds!
Mattress laid out to test fit and function. Looks good so far. Need to use for several nights and will post more
Bought this for camping trips. No longer need to bring a tent, can chill in the back of my car. Very happy.
So comfortable and perfect for one person.wish it was foldable but rolling it isnt terrible.
Fits well and is very comfortable! I’m worried about the longevity of the zippers on the carrying bag and the compression satraps aren’t the best quality either. Also, does not quite fit flush in the sub trunk of Model 3 like advertised. It slightly pokes out, but will compress flat if trunk is fully loaded. Overall would recommend!
Easy install and setup and a cozy foam mattress. Would definitely recommend for anyone under 6ft.
The mat is extremely comfortable, and the shades provide a good amount of privacy… The only thing I would say is due to the incline in the trunk, there was a slight incline after putting the mattress out… We solve this by putting some towels towards the bottom to make sure it didn’t slip too much. Overall, really solid product and was surprised even on camp mode we were able to last a few days without recharging
Super pleased w/ my new Tesmat! After a big road trip and not having this as a sleeping option, I decided to change things up for my next road trip. This “bed” is a GAME CHANGER. Easy to setup/breakdown! Fellow Tess Y Owners, treat yourselves! : )
I've used this for car camping at a camp site and also sleeping at a rest stop during a long drive. Overall it's high quality and comfortable. You can't replicate a full mattress so the thickness is what you get and is reasonably comfortable considering. I slept on top of a sleeping bag once with the mattress for extra padding but I've also used it without both ways are very doable. Packing it away is simple and takes more practice/skill than strength. Overall I really like it. It's saved me money commuting and is easier than pitching a tent and also gives a quieter more sheltered sleeping experience.
